The Story of Cindy

A few months ago, our cat Cindy found herself in a terrible situation.

My husband, Joe, left the house for the afternoon, closing the garage door with the remote from his car.  Little did he realize that Cindy, one of our cats, was caught in a fold of the garage door.

She was sitting on top of the open garage door, as she had done many times before.  This time when the door started to close, she was apparently not able to get down in time and one of her front legs was caught as the door continued to come down.  She was hanging by that leg on the outside of the door.  We are not sure how much time passed before one of our neighbors saw her dangling there and rushed over to open the garage door from inside.  When the door started to open, she jumped down and ran on three legs and hid in the bushes around the house.  Our neighbor could not find her.  When I got home later that afternoon, he told me what had happened and we began searching for her.  Approximately two hours later she came out and we were able to catch her.

Joe and I immediately took her to our veterinarian's office where he examined her and took an x-ray and tested her for nerve damage.  The x-ray indicated no broken bones, but there was severe nerve damage. The vet cleaned the wound where her skin was badly pinched and had to insert a drain to avoid infection.  She was given antibiotics and pain medication for the flesh wound.  As for the nerve damage he gave us some very bad news.  Due to the severity of the nerve damage, he indicated that amputation of her foot and/or leg would be a strong possibility.  There was nothing else to do except wait and see when or if she would regain use of her leg.

Cindy spent that night in the hospital. When she came home the next day, Cindy's foot was completely curled under and she was walking on three legs, holding the damaged leg up, unable to put any weight on it at all.

Approximately, one week later, Michelle started energy healing on Cindy.  Within a few days, Cindy started to uncurl her foot and stretch it out in front of her.  We then took her back to the vet to have the drain taken out and check her progress.  Our regular vet was not available that day, so another doctor looked at her and took another x-ray.  Her flesh wound was healing nicely, but this vet said the nerve damage was very bad and it would take a very long time before she would be able to use that leg again, if ever.  At least we were happy to hear she did not think amputation was necessary.

Michelle continued to perform energy healing on Cindy regularly.  Over the next 2 to 3 weeks, while receiving the energy therapy, Cindy made unusually good progress.  She began to uncurl her foot more often, then began to stretch and put weight on her foot.  She eventually began to walk on all four feet, stepping very gingerly on the damaged foot.  Michelle continued with the energy therapy, and Cindy continued to get better.  Her recovery took about a month.

The vet told us to call or bring Cindy back into the office if there were problems, but we never felt that was necessary.  Cindy made  a complete recovery and is now using her leg and paw normally, although she doesn't sit on top of the garage door as often.
