Mantra
“Develop Divine Vibrations Within”
"My beloved brothers and sisters, I am overwhelmed with joy to see the entire youth of America gathered here in the name of music. In fact, through music we can work wonders. Music is the celestial sound that controls the whole universe, not atomic vibrations. Sound energy, sound power, is much, much greater than any other power in this world.
One thing I very much wish you all to remember; with sound we can make, and at the same time break. So let all our actions
and all our arts express Yoga. Through the sacred art of music let us find peace that will pervade all over the globe. The entire
world is going to be watching. The entire world is going to know what the American youth can do for humanity."
- From the opening speech at The Woodstock Festival, 1969.

“Every sound has a vibration, every vibration its own effect. Various sounds are used in the nursery, in the monastery,
on the battlefield. Just like any other force of nature, sound, too, can be used for good or bad. As spiritual people,
we use sound to elevate the mind and to bring out the divine qualities. Repetition of holy names is found in almost every
religion--in churches, temples, synagogues, mosques. Thousands of years ago, yogis had also realized the importance of sound.
They called those sounds ‘mantras.’ A mantra is a holy name or word with divine vibrations. You can develop such vibrations
in yourself also. Simply select one sound and repeat it constantly. Just be sure that it is a holy sound, a sound that will
be uplifting for you and for all humanity."
